Alex then went on to perform Suparimpei Kata in the Cadets 16-19yrs Open category. Alex's score of 22.1from the judges was enough for him to top the points in this event securing him the Gold this time round.
The Kumite fighting events soon got underway which saw Alex initially competing in the Cadets 16-19yrs Open event. Alex had a scrappy opening round fighting an awkward opponent. Alex initially dropped a point but levelled it up quickly. A scrappy few points saw Alex quickly
lose a few more as Alex desperately tried to pull back the deficit. Unfortunately the time ran out with Alex losing 4 points to 3.
Alex then entered Male Senior Kumite, U75kg category. Alex's first opponent was a no-show which was followed by yet another no-show dropping Alex straight into the final to face his Ishinryu opponent, Alan Evans, who had already secured victories in two previous tough
rounds. Alan initially took the lead but Alex quickly countered before opening up a winning lead to secure the victory 6 points to 2.
