 Shuhari-Kai's Sophie Roberts recently secured the post as Sports Ambassador for Essex. She was nominated by
one of her school teachers for the Sports Ambassador Award with the teacher having to say why she thought Sophie would make a good ambassador. Sophie's nomination, along with 33 other nominations from schools across the county was put before a panel. Sophie was short listed
with another girl and both were invited to attend an interview. It was only at this stage the Sophie found out she had been nominated in the first place.
Sophie was successfully chosen to become Sports Ambassador and from what we know she will be promoting sport and the 2012 Olympics necessitating her giving talks at other schools amongst other
things. Sophie will be attending a presentation at Chelsea Football Club in September and will be finding out more on what her responsibilities will be.
This was Sophie's third award received from her school; the other two being the Jack Petchey Achievers Award and the Brentwood Council Junior Sports Award.
