It seems that yet again we cannot agree to what’s going on in Karate England. We need one solid tree to grow from all the mess, not a plethora of bushes! There
should be ‘one’ licence fee for ALL parts of Karate or Martial Arts, it would then be the governing body who decides how the money should be spent.
The new 'Karate Sport England' group are still trying to steamroll ahead and it looks like the parents and students are to foot the bill! To join them, your association requires a minimum of 250 students... 250 to be part of what exactly?
They are self appointed, have no governing body sanctioning and have no WKF recognition which is only likely to be granted to the newly forming English Karate Federation. £20 fee per student for a sport licence too. Why also, if you’re not signing up with them AND buying
their new sport licence, does it seem you won't or it's harder for you to be picked for National Squad honours under their system? Who said they are selecting the National Squads - National Squads for what tournaments - non WKF?? Anyone should be able to pick for a
National Squad (England) if they are the best; if the best people don’t have the licence from them does it mean they can’t represent their country? Nonsense and would that be a form of discrimination if it were so? What sponsorship have the 'Karate Sport England' acquired
and who from if any? and who from the governing body appointed them anyway - nobody!
Yes we need different departments to look after the sport, referees, P.R. and so on but it seems that the students are being blackmailed - you must have what is being put together by some group who are pushing the sport side and who
decide what competitions are going to be ranked. We need a main governing body first. Let’s walk before we run.
