On the day of our selections for the forthcoming Cadet & Junior European Championships which are being held in Turkey, our competitors were told and issued a letter about Karate England having no funds and how much
it’s going to cost the selected competitors themselves to compete for their country. Why is KE board putting the cart before the horse? Will they ever be proactive? Are they going to reimburse the monies which went MISSING when they were in power as board of directors?
No disrespect to any of them but none of the former board should even stand for re-election after what they’ve done to KE. How much bull do they think we should take? The most important people who are not being considered are the students and parents, not their
own egos or anything else. They are holding on to something which is DEAD and should be BURIED. We must cut down the tree and burn the dead wood and then let it grow with a new body & faces. There is no confidence with the same old face's wearing too many hats and not putting KE
First. Too much money is owed and we need to grow without anybody putting their egos first. It’s so easy to do; DUMP the old board and Sport England, get a NEW board, get sponsors, and then get SE back on board once we are afloat.
My karate, which I love, is being murdered by others and to this I will not stand by and let it happen. The eagerly awaited AGM in February will be a total waste of time. The governing body needs in excess of
£200,000 – to remain solvent. It will never happen, we must DISSOLVE and REBUILD or we will be in limbo for another 6 months or longer! A new board, treasury (trust a must), the tech side is not really a problem, head coach then assistant coaches male/female, doctors etc.
We need truthful answers which nobody's even had from KE board directors who had the biggest expenses from our money. Let’s work together and put the right people in place. It doesn't really matter what grade or who they are, this should be in their blood and
Karate must come first, not their back pockets. Karate has been knocked back and may take years to recover; we have no credibility or even any cash. These same people want to be re-elected?! Remember if this was a firm, no directors, or board members are eligible to be re-elected!!
Come on wake up and smell the coffee! Kick arse and let’s get people running a NEW GOVERNING BODY who will make it work.
1. We still haven't had any accountability from the November meeting and questions have still not been answered.
2. Abdu Shaher should not be re-elected onto the board.
3. All of the directors should be held accountable whether they resigned before or after August 2006.
4 Nick Halifihi should be brought to account on how the money was spent considering he did the whole sport plan.
5. Bob Poynton was not available to come to KE selections on Saturday as he was busy sorting out the KUGB Europeans!!! Commitment to KE… don't think so.
6. Why are the team being forced to pay £750 when Mr Shaher is running an office with agency staff?
7. If there is no Doctor/medical staff or chaperones what happens if the children are hurt are they covered? What if something happens to the children if they are abused or hurt, who is liable, the board, the
parents who????
Ask yourself do you really want to send your children to this competition, with no cover, no medical support and no accountability. If they can't manage money what makes you think they can look after the squad!!!!
