I.K.G.A. Invitational Kata Competition

Two students from Shuhari-Kai travelled to Corringham in Essex, to attend the Goju-Kai invitational Kata competition.

Callum Alboni was in the mixed 4th to 5th Kyu 5 to 10 years category, Callum had a first round bye, in round 2 he performed an excellent Pinan Sandan and won 3 flags to 0, in his next round her performed Pinan Nidan but  was just unlucky to lose 2 flags to 1 but it was enough to give him the bronze medal.

Jodie Miles was next and was in the mixed 1st kyu to Dan grade 5 to 15 years category, Jodie was up against another very good karate-ka, they both performed Bassai-Dai as they had to perform a shitei kata, with both doing an excellent kata it was Jodie who just missed out by 2 flags to 1.

Jodie and Callum would like to thank Mark Adams for inviting them to the competition and to Danielle Joyce and Steve Coleman for making them feel welcome and including them in with there groups.
