Seven students from the Shuhari-Kai Karate Club were invited to take part in the Mardyke annual fete on Saturday 16th June 2006.
The Rainham students, who all train at the Mardyke Centre on Monday evenings, were asked to display some of their techniques they've learnt during the short time the Dojo has been there. The seven students in action were Joe Hatcher, Liam Wrentham, Jack Elvin,
Callum Alboni, Shannon Davis, Faye Hart and the sensei (teacher) for the day was Alex Groves.
After performing some line work, Callum, Faye and Joe performed Pinan Nidan Kata. Faye and Callum then went on to perform another Kata, Pinan
Shodan with Callum finishing off the display performing his third Kata of the day, Pinan Sandan on his own. It was very nerve racking for him as he is still only 6 years old. All the students are low grades and did extremely well under the spotlight of the Mayoral audience who
was very impressed with their performance and conduct.
