| What a great day.
Sunday 16th April was the day for this years Easter competition. Unfortunately with so many students off on holiday there were slightly less than usual attending.
It all kicked off with the kata events, this was split into three sections peewees to yellow belts, orange to brown belt 3rd kyu, and adults. This year Sensei decided not to give the higher grades any surprises with weights on there legs or flippers on there feet
so it was straight forward any Wado kata of there choice.
Kumite was next with Sensei Richard Burridge and Sempai Jodie Miles taking it in turns to referee with Sophie Roberts on flags.
After putting all the students into there correct categories we asked our surprise guest Danielle Joyce to select the names of the fighters as she didn’t know who was who which made it fairer on the two referees.
After all the events had finished every competitor received a certificate for attending the competition.
Danielle stayed and was asked to select all the raffle numbers. The 1st ticket out (and no he didn’t pay her) was Sensei Richards number so he got the mystery prize.
The raffle made a total of £79.00 which will go towards the club and squad funds.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event.
