BT Exact Open Championships   Callum Alboni took the opportunity to further his competition experience by attending the BT Exact Open Championships hosted by EKKA. The championships took place on Sunday 19th November 2006 at St. Joseph's College, Ipswich. Callum was the sole representative from Shuhari-Kai Karate Club which added that extra pressure to him.   Callum started off his day competing in the Kata event which was judged on points by three judges. Callum performed Pinan Sandan and scored 6.7, 6.6 & 6.6 totalling 19.9. Unfortunately for Callum, this left him outside of the top medal placings but as ever Callum was quite happy to compete and just keeps smiling.   Soon the Kumite events got underway with Callum competing in the Boys Under 4'2'', 6-4th Kyu category. Amazingly there were no other entrants in this event and Callum was awarded Gold. At least he was there and prepared to fight on the day so he deservedly got some reward.   Well done Callum - keep smiling.
