| Two members of the Shuhari-Kai karate club attended Havering’s, London Youth Games presentation evening on November 29th at Romford ice rink, they were Jordan Hodges and Jodie Miles.
Jordan was a reserve for the boys team at the youth games, but Jodie represented Havering in both kata and kumite, where she won a gold and a bronze medal.
With Jodie’s achievements along with all the other girls from Havering the girls managed to win the karate section outright and the female karate trophy, which was presented to Richard Burridge (team coach) Jodie Miles, Emma Lucraft and
Lucy Peppercorn at the presentation evening by the mayor of Havering.
After all team and individual photographs of the Havering squad had been taken the representatives and their families were allowed to enjoy the rest of the evening on the ice.
During the evening there was a quiz which Jodie managed to finish with a little help from her friends, and won the prize, which was two free tickets to skate at the ice rink from now until March 2006.
After being presented with the tickets from the mayor Jodie decided to donate the tickets to the Shuhari-Kai raffle which will be held on 18th December.
Shuhari-Kai would like to congratulate Margaret Campbell and all her colleagues for a wonderful evening, all the Havering squad had a very cold but wonderful time.

The evening of Monday 12th December saw two Shuhari-Kai students, Jodie Miles and Sophie Roberts visit Romford Town Hall to help receive a cheque from the Jack Petchey Foundation that helped support Havering during the London Youth Games. The other girls in
attendance from the Girls Karate Team were Lucy Peppercorn and Emma Lucraft.
