3rd South England Grand Prix Alex Sell was the only representative from Shuhari-Kai to attend the first round of the South England Grand Prix held on 1st June. Alex travelled to Loughton in Essex to compete for Elite award for the overall champion. The Grand Prix is held over three events with points scored at each event applied to a ranking system. The overall champion is decided on accumulated points over the course of the Grand Prix.     Alex made a fantastic start by coming through five rounds in the 10-13 Brown Belts Kata to take Gold winning unanimous decisions in all but one round. Alex then competed in the Under 40KG Kumite in a round-robin event. Alex won his first two fights 7-4 and 7-6, coming from behind on both fights, but narrowly lost out in his third fight 3-0. Alex made no such mistake in his fourth fight winning 6-0 and secured Bronze on the day. The 'Psycho' has made a great start to his quest to become the Elite Champion taking a fistful of points giving him a high ranking. Let's hope it's double gold at the next round.
